Sala Apolo is one of Barcelona's most beloved venues — a stunning 1940s ballroom that has been transformed into one of Europe's finest underground clubs. The venue's ornate architecture, with its original balconies, painted ceiling, and parquet dance floor, creates a unique atmosphere that no modern club can replicate. Apolo runs two distinct programmes: live concerts early in the evening, followed by the legendary Nitsa Club electronic night that runs until sunrise.
Built in 1943 as a traditional ballroom in El Raval, Sala Apolo hosted generations of flamenco, bolero, and tango dancers before reinventing itself as a live music and club venue in the 1990s. The Nitsa Club night, launched in 1993, is one of the longest-running electronic music nights in Europe.
