1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
Account information. When you sign in via Google OAuth (our only authentication method), we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We do not store your Google password.
Event promotions. If you submit an event for promotion through our Stripe-powered checkout, we collect event details you provide (name, date, description, venue, image). Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number, CVV, or billing address.
Saved events. If you save events while signed in, we store that list linked to your account.
City requests. If you submit a city request form, we collect the city name and optionally your email.
Usage data. We collect anonymized analytics including pages visited, referrer URLs, and general geographic region (country/city level) via Google Analytics 4. IP addresses are anonymized before storage.
Push notifications. If you opt in to browser push notifications, we store a push subscription token to deliver nightlife alerts. You can revoke this at any time in your browser settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and improve the PartiesNearMe platform
- Authenticate your account and maintain your session
- Display events you have saved
- Process event promotion payments via Stripe
- Send push notifications you have opted into
- Respond to city requests and support inquiries
- Analyze aggregated usage patterns to improve the site
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for automated profiling or targeted advertising.
4. Third-Party Services
PartiesNearMe integrates the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:

- Stripe — payment processing for event promotions. We share only what is necessary to complete your transaction. Stripe Privacy Policy
- Mapbox — interactive maps for event discovery. Mapbox may collect anonymized map interaction data. Mapbox Privacy Policy
- Unsplash / Cloudfront CDN — image hosting. Images served from our CDN do not involve data collection about you.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services:
- Account data — retained until you request deletion
- Saved events — retained until you remove them or delete your account
- Event promotion records — retained for 7 years for legal and accounting compliance
- Analytics data — retained in Google Analytics for 14 months (Google's default), then automatically deleted
- Push tokens — deleted when you revoke the notification permission or request deletion
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR (EU/EEA), LGPD (Brazil), CCPA (California), or other applicable laws, including:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated data
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent — revoke push notification consent at any time in browser settings

7. Children's Privacy
PartiesNearMe is a nightlife discovery platform intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at mauriciopachecoamaro@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide a more prominent notice. Continued use of PartiesNearMe after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
