DJ Maphorisa is a South African DJ and producer who is one of the central architects of the amapiano genre, co-creating many of the genre's defining tracks and collaborating extensively with Kabza De Small to bring the sound from Johannesburg's informal settlements to global stages. His production output is prolific, spanning Afrobeats, gqom, and Afro-house alongside amapiano. He is one of the most influential South African musicians of his generation.
