Ellen Allien is a German DJ and producer who founded BPitch Control in 1999, one of the most important Berlin techno labels of the 2000s, which released early work by Apparat, Paul Kalkbrenner, and Modeselektor. Her own productions and DJ sets have consistently occupied a unique space between Berlin industrial techno and more melodic electronic influences. She is one of the key figures in the Berlin scene who helped shape the global perception of the city's club culture.
