Marcel Dettmann is a German DJ and producer who is one of Berghain's principal residents and whose MDR label is a consistently respected platform for dark, uncompromising techno. His sets are defined by an intense focus on the dancefloor, avoiding gimmicks in favour of a thorough, sustained pressure that characterises the best Berlin techno. He is widely considered one of the defining artists of contemporary Berghain-style techno.
