Richie Hawtin is a British-Canadian DJ, producer, and entrepreneur who was central to the development of Detroit-influenced minimal techno in the 1990s, releasing seminal work under aliases including Plastikman and F.U.S.E. on his Plus 8 label. His technologically innovative approach to live performance, using Ableton and custom software, influenced a generation of artists. He remains one of the most cerebral and forward-thinking figures in underground electronic music.
