About Cabaret Voltaire

Cabaret Voltaire occupies a beautifully preserved 18th-century building on Blair Street, its original stone vaults and brick arches giving the venue an atmospheric quality that modern purpose-built clubs can't replicate. Across multiple rooms, it hosts everything from electronic club nights to live indie and alternative shows, making it one of Edinburgh's most versatile venues. The main room's Funktion-One sound system is one of the best in Scotland, and the booking policy covers the full spectrum from established headliners to emerging local talent.

History

Opening in 2001, Cabaret Voltaire helped transform Edinburgh's Cowgate area from a neglected historic street into one of the UK's most distinctive nightlife destinations. The venue has hosted some of the biggest names in electronic music while maintaining a commitment to local artists and alternative culture.
