Zouk KL is Malaysia's most celebrated nightlife institution, a multi-room superclub that has been at the centre of Kuala Lumpur's clubbing culture since opening its first iteration in 1997. The current venue in Jalan Ampang spans multiple themed rooms — the main club, Velvet Underground for R&B and hip-hop, and Phuture for trance and progressive house — creating a complete nightlife ecosystem under one roof. Zouk's booking history reads like a roll call of global dance music's greatest names, from Carl Cox to Peggy Gou, and its annual event calendar includes some of the most anticipated nights in Southeast Asia.
Zouk KL opened in 1997 as a sister venue to the Singapore original, bringing international club culture to Kuala Lumpur at a time when the city was transforming through its economic boom. The club moved to its current Jalan Ampang location in 2014 after outgrowing its original Jalan Ampang premises, upgrading to a venue befitting its status as Malaysia's premier nightlife destination.
