New City Gas is one of North America's most visually spectacular clubs — a vast former gas works building from the 1870s transformed into a 2,800-capacity venue with extraordinary production values. The building's original brick arches and industrial infrastructure have been preserved and integrated into a club environment that combines historic architecture with state-of-the-art lighting, sound, and visual production. Programming spans EDM, hip-hop, and house, with regular headliner bookings that make it Montréal's most prominent large-scale venue.
New City Gas opened in 2013 in Griffintown, a former industrial neighbourhood undergoing major redevelopment. The conversion of the 1870s gasworks building into a club was immediately recognised as one of the most impressive venue transformations in Canadian history.
