About Exit/In

Exit/In is one of the most historically significant rock clubs in the American South, having hosted every major name in rock and alternative music since 1971. The venue's intimate capacity and decades of history create an atmosphere heavy with musical legacy — names like Jimmy Buffett, Elvis Costello, and The Replacements played here before they became legends, and the tradition continues with today's emerging indie and alternative acts. Exit/In is Nashville's most important venue for guitar-based music.

History

Exit/In opened in 1971 on Elliston Place — Nashville's 'Rock Block' — and became immediately central to the city's non-country music scene. Its more than 50 years of continuous operation make it one of the longest-running rock clubs in the United States.
