About The EndUp

The EndUp is one of the oldest continually operating dance clubs in the United States, having welcomed San Francisco's LGBTQ+ community and night owls since 1973. The club's after-hours model — staying open through Sunday morning and beyond — has made it a unique institution where the dance floor fills as the rest of the city wakes up. The EndUp's history is deeply intertwined with San Francisco's LGBTQ+ history, and it has been a place of refuge and celebration for the community through every chapter of that history.

History

The EndUp opened in 1973 as a neighbourhood bar and evolved into one of San Francisco's most iconic after-hours clubs. Its history spans the entirety of the city's LGBTQ+ rights movement, the AIDS crisis, and every transformation that has reshaped San Francisco since.
