Zouk is one of the most important clubs in Asia — a Singapore institution since 1991 that has played a defining role in Southeast Asia's electronic music development. For three decades, Zouk introduced Singapore and the wider region to the world's leading DJs, from Carl Cox to Sasha to the full spectrum of electronic music talent, while developing a local scene that has grown into one of Asia's most sophisticated. The current Clarke Quay location continues this tradition with state-of-the-art facilities and programming that maintains Zouk's reputation as Asia's benchmark club.
Zouk opened in 1991 in a converted warehouse on Jiak Kim Street and immediately became the most important club in Southeast Asia. Its influence on regional electronic music culture over three decades is impossible to overstate — Zouk is to Asia what Fabric is to London or Berghain is to Berlin.
