Tenax is one of Italy's most historically significant electronic music clubs, a converted warehouse northeast of the city centre that has been hosting underground dance music events since 1981. The club's programming has been consistently ahead of its time — it was booking techno and electronic acts before the genre had a name, and today it remains Italy's leading venue for credible electronic music tourism. International DJs from the Berlin, Detroit and Amsterdam scenes appear regularly alongside the best of Italian talent.
Tenax opened in 1981 in a Peretola industrial zone and was pivotal in establishing Italian electronic music culture through the 1980s and 1990s. Its four-decade commitment to underground music makes it one of Europe's most culturally significant clubs.
