About Sound Nightclub
Sound Nightclub is the spiritual home of Los Angeles's underground electronic music community. The intimate Hollywood venue holds around 500 people and features a Funktion-One sound system that is widely regarded as one of the finest in the city. The programming is exclusively underground — deep techno, house, and electronic — with a booking policy that prioritises musical quality over commercial appeal. Sound has hosted virtually every major name in underground electronic music, from Ricardo Villalobos to Nina Kraviz.
History
Opened in 2012, Sound was conceived as a direct response to the bottle-service megaclub culture that dominated LA nightlife at the time. The venue's founders wanted to create a space where the music was the primary attraction, without VIP culture or celebrity bookings. Sound quickly became a favourite with LA's electronic music community and has maintained its reputation for over a decade.
