Do Not Sit On The Furniture is the antithesis of Miami's megaclub culture. Tucked into a converted house on South Beach, the venue holds fewer than 200 people and books exclusively underground electronic music — deep house, techno, and experimental sounds that would never grace the stage at LIV or E11EVEN. The decor is deliberately surreal: a hanging shark, disco balls, and mismatched furniture create a space that feels more like an art installation than a nightclub. Despite its tiny size, DNSOTF has hosted some of the most respected names in global electronic music.
Opened in 2013 by Miami native Jonathon Swire, Do Not Sit On The Furniture was a direct response to the commercialisation of Miami nightlife. Swire wanted to create a space where the music came first, without bottle service, VIP culture, or celebrity bookings. The venue quickly became a pilgrimage destination for serious electronic music fans visiting Miami.
