Muffatwerk occupies a magnificently preserved 19th-century power station on the banks of the Isar river, its ornate brick architecture and vast interior spaces making it one of Munich's most beautiful venues. Since 1994, it has operated as a multi-purpose cultural space hosting live concerts, club nights, theatre, and festivals. The Ampere club room within the complex is particularly beloved for electronic music events, while the larger main hall handles big live shows and special events. The riverside terrace is one of Munich's finest spots for open-air events in summer.
Muffatwerk opened in 1994 in the former Müllersches Volksbad power station, one of Munich's finest examples of late 19th-century industrial architecture. The conversion preserved the building's historic character while creating a world-class cultural venue.
