The Gürtel in the 6th and 7th districts is Vienna's most famous late-night strip, with clubs and bars built into arches beneath an elevated railway line. The 7th district (Neubau) has a more bohemian bar scene, and the Prater area hosts large-scale club events in open-air settings during summer.

Flex is Vienna's most iconic electronic club, a legendary riverside venue with an extraordinary sound system. Pratersauna is a hedonistic complex in the Prater with an outdoor pool and marathon weekend parties. Grelle Forelle under a bridge in the 2nd district hosts consistently excellent techno nights, and Sass Music Club in the 1st district is the upscale mainstream option.

Vienna clubs have no fixed closing time, and some of the city's most celebrated venues — including Pratersauna — run events that last 24 hours or more. Flex and Grelle Forelle typically wind down by 6–8 am, but weekends can see events running continuously from Friday night through Sunday morning.

Absolutely — Vienna's legendary ball season (Ballsaison) runs from November through March, with dozens of grand formal dances held in opera houses and palaces. Many Viennese party-goers attend a ball in formal attire and then move on to clubs after midnight. The Opera Ball in February is the most famous event but there are options almost every weekend.
