Coco Bongo Playa del Carmen is the resort destination's most famous nightclub, a theatrical spectacle that blends acrobatic performances, celebrity impersonators, confetti cannons and DJ sets into a non-stop entertainment experience unlike any conventional nightclub. The 2,000-capacity venue is more Broadway show than dance club, with performers descending from the ceiling and replica cars lowered onto the stage between DJ sets. History

Coco Bongo originally opened in Cancun in 1997 before expanding to Playa del Carmen in 2000. The Playa location has been a major anchor of 5th Avenue's nightlife economy and a significant draw for tourists choosing between the Riviera Maya's destinations.
