About Fortune Sound Club

Fortune Sound Club occupies a former Chinese restaurant in Chinatown and has established itself as Vancouver's most musically credible nightclub, with a Funktion-One sound system and a booking philosophy that prioritises artistry over commercial appeal. The 500-capacity room hosts the city's best hip-hop, soul, funk and electronic nights, drawing a musically literate crowd that makes every event feel like a gathering of the city's cultural cognoscenti.

History

Fortune Sound Club opened in 2010 in Vancouver's Chinatown neighbourhood, playing a key role in the area's cultural revitalisation and establishing itself as an alternative to the mass-market clubs of Granville Street. Its Funktion-One sound system was one of the first in Western Canada.
