Void is Athens's most serious underground club, a dedicated electronic music venue in the Gazi district with a reputation for uncompromising programming and extended format parties that run well into Sunday morning. The club's dark interior, quality sound system, and musically literate crowd create an atmosphere that rivals the best underground clubs in northern Europe. Void has been instrumental in building Athens's credibility on the international techno circuit, booking artists from Berlin, Amsterdam, and Detroit for an audience that knows exactly who they are. The resident DJ team is among the strongest in Greece.
Void opened in 2008 in Gazi, the former gasworks district that became Athens's cultural hub in the 2000s. The club was conceived as a direct response to the lack of serious underground electronic music venues in Athens. Its success demonstrated that the city had an appetite for quality techno beyond the commercial sounds that dominated Greek clubbing.
