Sziget is not a normal festival. For one week each August, Óbuda Island — a 108-hectare island in the Danube in the middle of Budapest — becomes its own temporary city of 400,000+ visitors from over 100 countries. It's part major-league music festival, part arts carnival: circus tents, theatre, a beach on the river, and stages running past 4 AM.
Sziget 2026 runs Tuesday August 11 to Saturday August 15, with a camping move-in day on Monday August 10. The island sits in Budapest's third district; the HÉV H5 suburban rail from Batthyány tér gets you there in 10–15 minutes, and festival ferries run along the Danube.
Camping on the island is the classic Sziget experience, with everything from basic tent pitches to pre-pitched glamping. But Budapest itself is one of Europe's best-value nightlife cities — staying in District VII puts you among the ruin bars, and you can recover in the Széchenyi thermal baths the morning after. Our Budapest nightlife guide covers the full picture.
Sziget 2026 runs Tuesday August 11 to Saturday August 15 on Óbuda Island in Budapest, with camping move-in from Monday August 10.
Headliners include Twenty One Pilots, Florence + The Machine, Bring Me The Horizon and Lewis Capaldi, with Richie Hawtin, Boys Noize, Dom Dolla, Underworld and dozens more on the electronic stages.
Full festival passes start around €355, 3-day passes around €225, and single day tickets around €75, with VIP and 21&Under options available.
Take the HÉV H5 suburban rail from Batthyány tér — 10–15 minutes to the island. Festival river ferries also run along the Danube during the event.
