Art Nouveau streets by day, underground clubs by night
Riga punches far above its size as a nightlife destination. The UNESCO-listed Old Town is packed with bars and clubs hidden in medieval buildings, while the Telliskivi-style creative districts host underground electronic nights that draw DJs from Berlin and beyond. As one of Europe's most popular stag-do and party-tourism destinations, Riga offers world-class nightlife at Eastern European prices — expect to pay a fraction of what you would in London or Amsterdam for the same quality of night out.

Riga's Old Town is the epicentre — dozens of clubs and bars are packed into the medieval streets, ranging from massive multi-floor nightclubs to intimate jazz bars. The surrounding streets outside the old walls have the more local and underground scene.
Club Essential and Nautilus are Riga's largest and most famous clubs. Skyline Bar at the Reval Hotel offers panoramic views. For electronic music, the underground clubs in the Old Town basement venues are where locals go.
Riga clubs typically stay open until 4–6 AM on Friday and Saturday, with some operating until sunrise. Last entry is usually around 3 AM. The city's late-night culture means bars start filling up after midnight.
Riga is one of Europe's most affordable nightlife cities. A beer costs €2–4, cocktails €5–8, and club entry €5–15. You can have an excellent night out for €30–50 including drinks and entry fees — roughly a quarter of what you'd spend in London or Amsterdam.
