Avant Gardner is the most ambitious nightlife project in New York City's recent history. The complex spans multiple indoor and outdoor spaces, with The Brooklyn Mirage — an open-air venue with a colossal curved LED video wall — being the crown jewel. The Great Hall and Kings Hall provide indoor options for year-round programming. Avant Gardner has hosted virtually every major name in electronic music, from Eric Prydz to Charlotte de Witte, and its production values rival major festival stages.
Founded in 2017 by Jared Doerfler and Alex Engel, Avant Gardner was developed on a former industrial site in East Williamsburg. The Brooklyn Mirage outdoor venue opened in 2018 and immediately set a new standard for outdoor electronic music experiences in New York. The complex has expanded steadily, adding new spaces and increasing capacity to become the city's de facto home for large-scale electronic music events.
